Ho, Ho, Ho!! Merry Christmas!

The cold is upon us here in the northern part of the world and Thanksgiving has been celebrated in good fashion. Oh, the blessing of family and friends joining us for a sit down dinner. I think we served about 45 people that day. Some were here who have been gone for a while and others were away doing what they needed to do. As always we miss those we love when they are gone and we are glad to have those around who can come. Mix that with great food and lots of love and sibling teasing and in our family you have the recipe of a great time!!

I must confess that I love my siblings and my parents more today than I did when we all lived at home. I really didn't think that was possible because I loved them fiercly then. It only makes sense then that I would want to preserve some moments and so it is in my life. I love digital scrapbooking that can capture those moments and get them in a place where they are presentable! As you gather with your kin, remember that it is important to love them and care for them. Capture moments with them when you can and then put it somewhere that you can look at it again and again. I love it when my kids run for their books and show them off, show their friends that they have a history and they love what they are getting.

Holidays

Well, we are officially into the holiday season and I want to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas or what ever you may be celebrating! I love celebrations and how they mark our lives. Family photos, snapshots and pictures of all kinds are on the mind and we try to capture the memories that we want to keep and Heritage Makers helps so much to get that all in order and put together in such a way that we can save what we have! I love being able to put some order to my memories and share them with others.

As Christmas lights infect my soul and I have a desire to be better and to share in this season of joy, the music and lights add to everything and just plain make things richer and better to enjoy. I love capturing things on camera so that I can remember what we were doing and the good time we had. If you have a desire to get organized and want some help with all of this, give me a shout and I will be glad to help you out!!

Moving into Winter

With the time change and the seasons moving into the colder, darker season of our year, it brings with it a little more time at home, time to organize and get ready for the busy spring; time to slow down and relax a little; and hopefully a little down time as well. This is a great time to organize photos and get them into some order. Also a time to put photos on paper and remember the colorful days that we have spent playing, spending time with family, working hard and being outside. Don't hesitate to check out this way of putting pictures in some kind of format so that they can be remembered. Gifts for Christmas, birthdays, and any other event are all available here.

I love this site because you don't have to use a template, I love building my own stuff and putting my own things together! That is the fun of getting going on this digital method. When I get an idea, I just start putting it together and it seems to build itself. I just love it. Tons of paper, elements and cute things to add to the pages make it so very easy to put things together. If you want a project that you can just put pictures into, there are plenty of templates there to look at.

Have fun and remember that keeping things in an organized format helps keep them organized in your house and in your head. I like that.

Fall is Really in Full Swing!!

Well, it has finally happened!! Fall has come and school is back in session and the homework is flowing into the household. Need an idea to organize all of this? Here it is.... Scan in some of their writing from the first of the school year, scan in the artwork with the file name as the date and child's name or code. Keep the most precious stuff and toss the rest. When you have all the files scanned, you can find them more easily. Then you can put them in the book, size them and you have them forever and no physical mess. It is truly the way to organize.

One more idea... how about scanning all of the stuff you have in your filing cabinet? Now there is a concept for organizing all of the papers we bring home and think we should keep.

Fall is Here

It is amazing that fall is here and it is in the air, infecious in all of its glory. The leaves are changing and the kids are well back into school and our schedules are finally settling down. It is time to get the pictures from summer organized and into a book so they can be remembered. We want all of the memories to be coordinated and the pictures accounted for. That makes everything memorable and worthwhile! If you would like some help, I would love to show you the possibilities!!

Fall is in the air!

Well, school is back in session and we are all wishing we were back on the mountain and enjoying one more day of vacation! I know we all had a really good time this weekend!! I love family camp! So fun to be up in the trees and associating with each other and just plain being around each other in the family is a wonderful thing. I like to spend my off hours putting family stuff together and getting it organized so that it is easier to work on my family history and scrap booking. Getting those pictures together is so fun and then when they print in a book they are so nice. Enjoy what you do!!

The Madness Starts Tomorrow

The new chapter in our lives starts today. This is the week that school starts back in session. I am really looking forward to life getting back to normal and things settling in until November when things in my world will explode once again. The pictures start flowing for High School stuff and those kids are involved in everything and if they aren't, they should be. I hate to see the warm weather come to an end though. I don't think I really got warm yet this summer. The tomatoes are just barely coming on and I am thinking that they are a couple of weeks late. I am finally starting to see my peaches turn but school and activities are just starting to move anyway. Well - take those pics and lets get them into a book where we can have the rememberances that we want to take with us. Digital scrapbooking is the funnest thing since sliced bread. Don't wait, get started!!

Dog Days of Summer

Here we are in the last days before school starts. The weather is stifling most of the time and then it rains and brings with it the relief of extreme heat. I am so grateful for the rain and the smell of sage and rain mixed. Remember to start getting those photos in order so that we can spend the winter getting them into books so we can have a rememberance. Our stories need to be told and that is what we are about. Lets tell our stories so that our families, children and those we love can see what we are about!

August is Here

Wow, I can't believe August is here and fall is right around the corner! I was putting some photos together last night and thinking I have got tons to do!! I love working on my son's books and getting their stuff all lined up so that we can have some memory books. As school becomes closer and closer on the horizon and we know the crazy days of summer are about over, it is more and more apparent that it is time to get back in gear for what we normally do. I love putting the stories of my family history together and I hope that you do too. If you need assistance, let me know and I will do everything I can to help you out.

End of July!

The end of July always brings with it mixed feelings for me. It is hot during the day, the nights are usually balmy. This morning I awoke to the soft rain and a little thunder to go with it. Of course, I love the humidity and the temperature was just right. This is my kind of weather. I spent a little time on the computer last night and I have been finding all the left over things that I want in my son's scrapbook and collecting them so that I can get them scanned in. I love scanning in the physical stuff and then putting it in the book so that I can throw everything away and there is no bulk. How lovely is that? De-junking and family history all at the same time!! Totally awesome! When the printed book comes, I just throw most everything out - that is the bohm!

Fresh Idea

It is the middle of summer, the evenings are a treasure. Take your laptop outside, sit in the swing or on the patio and work on your treasures as you relax at the end of day. The memories will flood back and it makes for an enjoyable evening. Even if all you are doing is playing, it is very relaxing and theraputic to stroll through memory lane.

Mid Summer

Wow, lots of Red, White, Blue and spirit!! I hope all had a lovely celebration this past weekend! It always makes me feel good to know that I live in the "land of the free and the home of the brave"! I love to express those feelings on pages showing flags and parades and fireworks. It really is fun to see and remember these days of celebration with family and friends and this year just seemed extra special. We love the good food, time with family and traditions that keep us together. Family reunions are also a great time to take some pictures and remember each other along with ancestors.

I hope that your summer is filled with love and memories and remember to take those photos so they can play in your pages!

Summer time

Isn't it so nice to finally have some warm weather? I am loving it!! It felt like I never got warm all winter long and the sun and the heat feel so very delicious. As you move through your activities this summer, think about the photos you are taking and get the ones with the family but also get the background photos that you may want to use as a background page. Sometimes general things tell a huge story that we want for background. The sea, a mountain, red rock color, the river, a canyon, rocks, the sky, etc. All of those things are great for building on when trying to make a point with photos on a page. Remember that you can use your photos as a transparency to write upon or to emphasize photos or people or places. The photos that tell your story are the ones you want to capture. Have fun, love lots and play hard!

Next...

Well, summer is here and we are in the thick of it!! This week and next week is the Manti Pagaent and we have plans to be there in a booth at the food court. I love this business and the fun of building my own books. It is interesting though how many people are interested but afraid of jumping in. If fear is holding you back, call me and let's get together so I can show you how easy it is.

The specials this month are great and you can find all of the information at www.myphotosatplay.com. Email me and I will get back to you. Keep taking those pictures and have some fun and we will get those memories and stories memorialized forever.

Feeling Overwhelmed?

Spring has sprung and we are all in the yard working and trying to make things very prettyful. It has gotten hot quickly and we seek the shade and a cool drink. As you sit thinking about the things on your "to do" list, don't hesitate to dig that box of pictures out and start going through them. Get them in some kind of order; themes, chronology, families, time periods, events, etc. Take the time to write down your memories, peoples names, places, funny facts, important facts, and the works so that they start to take some shape. As you move through this excercise, determine if you want to be creative or just get them into a book and out of that box in a hurry. Then give me a shout and I will help you get it put together so that you can enjoy those memories. Remember that Family History can be a lot of fun and nothing is set in concrete!!

Summer Has Begun

Well, we kicked the summer off with a booth at the Scandanavian Days celebration in Ephraim. It was pretty tough on the first day, the wind blew all the tents and awnings away and so we packed it up and went home. On Saturday we started over but things were better as well. By the end of the day I had seen lots of friends who didn't know I was helping others to do this. It was fun to see all of you who love me and want some help. I am excited to help you out! I love this business, they have so many quality things and the projects are endless and so much fun!!!

If you haven't had a chance to see them with your own eyes, give me a call and we can put something together. These projects make great gifts and fabulous keepsakes! I really want to help you preserve your memories like I am preserving mine!!

You put it together and then let them do the work. The company is so awesome and they have such a great product but, don't take my word for it, come and see what we are doing!!

Oh, the FUN!

Digital scrapbooking is my new love!! Can I just tell you?? I was tending for my sister last night and was using her computer to do my stuff and I love the fact that you can work from any computer as long as you can get on line. These are two pages that I put together in a few minutes last night. I especially like the one on the left. It really is awesome to be able to work from anywhere. As my sister watched me put things together and the ease with which it went, she seemed to be amazed that it was so easy. That to me is the key; user friendly and convenience. When those things combine, it is a win, win situation. My creative juices are allowed to flow and everything seems to come together. Love that!!
PS. Double click on it and it should blow up so you can see it better.

Beginnings

Oh my, oh my.... The fun of digital scrapbooking!!! I havent' had this much fun in years I don't think! If you have found yourself arriving at that place where you can't decide what to do; you have all your photos on your computer or on discs and you need to decide whether to print them and scrapbook them or finally go digital, let me help. Going digital is so much nicer. You can save your favorite papers by scanning them, you can organize the photos how you want, tell the story and then print your book. And, when the book comes, you are so thrilled with the quality that words just don't describe.
